Last June, I wrote about New York, sort of.
It started as a blog of everything I ate in May in Manhattan, but ended as an article about pizza from other states.
This blog was originally about New York....
“It’s a hell of a towwwwwnnnnn!” This blog might be a little confusing. I initially started writing this whilst in New York at the beginning of May. It has now transformed into a love letter to Pizza? Instead of writing two separate pieces, I thought it’d be fun to just keep the two. You’ll read where it shifts, don’t worry!
Essentially, I’ve grown.
Just kidding, but my opinions have changed.
As of right now, the best pizza I’ve ever had is from Vito’s Slices and Ices in Manhattan on 9th Avenue. It’s exactly what you think it is. Counter service, no frills, no exemplary customer service, just really good pizza.
I swear though, I REFUSE to adopt the attitude of “pizza isn’t the same out of New York!” or that I can’t see pizza the same way anymore.
What I am adopting is that right now, the best pizza I have had was in New York….but my opinion could change again.
Who knows and who cares?!
Houston is a big food place, I’ve had a couple of good slices here, but nothing compared to Vito’s. But I am very open-minded.
In all transparency, that’s all I got to say about that. I wish I could conjure up more exquisite thoughts about pizza and the world. But for now, always leave room to grow, especially when it comes to cheese and carbs.
With Love,
Cara
