When was the last time you’ve seen/eaten/thought of a blondie?
Until today, it’s been a HOT second!
Blondies are a mega sugary, mega fudgy, American dessert originating in the late 19th century. Fun fact, blondies were created about a decade before its more famous counterpart, brownies.
The bar originally got its tan caramel color from molasses. Although nowadays they're paler in comparison and decked out in white chocolate chips and other fun addins.
I say all this because I made blondies for the first time today, and it certainly won’t be the last. This recipe was so simple and so easy to make!
No mixer, one bowl, and about twenty minutes to put it all together.
I love a low-maintenance bake on a Sunday afternoon.
These were prepared for an Easter Egg Hunt a friend of mine is hosting, decked out with white chocolate chips, mini marshmallows, mini chocolate chips, and a hefty amount of sprinkles.
For a long time, I used to think baking had to be complex, original, and semi-sophisticated for it to be a good bake.
In reality, baking can be a great, restful tool, that is allowed to be easy and joyous and as sweet as I’d like it to be.
With Love,
